Garden Plots - What Are They?

The Two Different Kinds of Plot Kits

With each kit you will need to attach the drip line hose to the main shut off valve. It’s recommended that you do the attaching in the warm part of the day when the hose is the most pliable. It makes it much easier! The main shut off valve [ black ] controls the water the hose it is connected. It is also recommended to run water through the hose(s)  before you cap them off to make sure there is no debris in your line(s).

S-Kit --  $20.00

61ft of Drip Line Hose, 1 end cap, 12 staplesThis setup is very easy for beginning gardeners. As you can see you just curve the hose in an “S” shape. Some people plant their garden and then shape the hose to fit where the plants are places. More common is to lay the hose in either a vertical or horizontal “S” shape and then plant your garden along the path of the hose. With proper planning you can really maximize this layout and have a great garden! This is NOT the setup to use if your planting corn or any other crop that needs long straight rows.
L-Kit - $27.00
5x15.25ft Drip Line Hose, 9 ft Netafim, 1 Elbow, 5 End Caps, 4 T’s, 12 6’ Staples

This kit is a little more difficult to set up but provides the maximum water to each row and also makes it easy to designate the pathways in between your rows. You’ll need to do a bit of cutting for the top row to set up the rows how you want them. Attach the T’s. Then attach the individual lines after that. The last line will use the elbow.

This kit involves the most setup but if gives you excellent water to long row crops like potatoes, corn, and bush or pole beans. As mentioned above since you are attaching more hoses than the “S” kit then it is recommended to set up during a warm time of the day.
